Foodco stands for Qatar Food Industries Company. After the relocation of Qatar Flour Mills from the Ummsaid campus to the Doha Port campus, it was already in the vision of Management to establish a full domain of manufacturing facility within the campus of the Mill so that there would be regular supply of the freshest ingredients from our Mill section. This idea was materialized and Foodco was formed in 1997 within the same campus as of our Mill. A huge amount of money was spent to install the Plants of Foodco which comprises of three sections namely
Our Pasta Plant is imported from Buhler – Switzerland to assure outstanding Quality. A PLC based system – fully computerized, manages the ingredients mix and process parameters. Plant is outfitted with all stainless steel appliances. The final product is packaged by very efficient packing machines which ensure that our production and packaging undergo simultaneously at the same time leaving no product without packaging for a long time. This has enhanced the shelf life of our Products immensely.
We have in house facility to manufacture the Biscuits in fully computerized PLC based Plant imported from Werner & Pfilederer of Germany. The capacity of our Plant is 6 metric tones of Biscuits per 8 hours of shift. Plant is under supervision of qualified & experienced Food Technologists selected from all around the globe who ensure strict quality norms with a well-defined Process Control System. Right now we are producing 4 varieties of Biscuits – Glucose, Marie, Petit Buerre and Crackers.
Similarly we have chosen the latest technology for our Baby Food Plant. The Plant has been taken from Gauda based at Netherlands. All measures for ultra hygiene are enormously followed and dirt free ambience for the processes is maintained. A well maintained microbiological laboratory is there in which the final product has to undergo several tests in order to get approved for the market.
